What is the best way to santise baby toys?
My 10 month old has gastro and keeps getting it. I want to santise his toys, plush, hard and battery operated ones. Everything basically. Any ideas?

- Put the plush through the washing machine with extra detergent. For the hard and battery operated one, fill a bucket with hot water and pour in bleach or sanitiser, and with a damp cloth wipe over each toy. Use the same concept for everything else. =]
- To sanitise the plush toys, put them through the washing machine and dry them in the sun- The heat of the sun generally removes the germs. To sanitise the hard toys, either spray or wipe over with a solution of 1 part bleach to 4 parts water and allow the solution to dry on them. This is the way that we sanitised toys at the childcare centre I used to work at.
- Sanitize? Well, unless they'res dog crap on them, I wouldn't worry. Here's a story: My mom knew a couple who had a baby and decided they wanted to bring it up perfectly. It was never fed meat, only used something that was clean, and was very sheltered. The bad thing was that it had never come in contact with germs. They took her to the pool for excercise, and one of the other babies pooped in the pool. The entire group got a bit sick from the germs, except for this baby. She had virtually no immune system, and died. So, I'm not saying that you're sheltering your baby or anything, (I wouldn't anyway, since I have no clue who you are) but make sure they contact lots of germs. I ate dirt straight from the garden when I was little, and now I only get a cold once a year.
- BOIL THEM... I boil my baby's bottles then let them dry and put them in bags I know i know is too much but every one try to protect their kids on any possible way thats my answer :)
- anytoys without batteries just give a good wash with hot soapy water. Plush toys through a hot gentle cycle on the washing machine. Battery operated, give a wipe over with a cloth that has been soaked in Pine-o-clean. Leave to dry completly. Mine got gastro a lot as babies too.
- plush toys can be washed in the washing machine unless it says hand wash only or surface wash only. In that case i filled a bucket with hot boiling water and soaked them in there for an hour. then i hung out to dry. plastic toys can be soaked in hot water too maybe add a small amount of bleach but make sure you rinse well. Ive down all of this with my daughters toys and shes nealy 11 months never affected her in any way. Either that or have aword with your health nurse she can also help you :)
