  1. My almost 3 yr old likes to help me bake muffins.
  2. pasta bake. our kids at school love it. Also jacket spuds. u need to offer nut free, gluten free and gelatine free(religious beliefs). sounds a good idea. good luck
  3. My children love chicken goujons (chicken breast not processed), fish fingers, beans, veg soup, scones with loads of jam, chicken curry, chilli con carne, spag bol, stew, the list goes on
  4. Oven fries with unsweetened catsup. Maple-yam puree with whipped cream on top. Whole wheat pancakes with fresh fruit. On your menu, make sure you designate which foods have never come into contact with nuts or nut oils (particularly peanut) and gluten-free dishes. Also include a couple of vegan dishes.
  5. My daughter loves those pre-made uncrustable PB&J sandwiches that smuckers makes so I bought the little gadget used to make them from pampered chef and we use it all the time. You can make any kind of sandwich like PB&J, grilled cheese, etc. Kids love it cause the sandwiches are easier to hold for them and it's less mess because whatever you put in there is sealed in between the bread.
  6. It depends on the clientele that you are aiming at. I think it's good to offer half portions of the adult food where possible - e.g. mini portions of lasagne or cottage pie, or half jacket potatoes for half the adult price. On a specific kids menu it's nice to see pasta options like spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce or macaroni cheese with some side salad or garlic bread - these are usually popular and are veggie too. Good quality sausages and mash normally go down well as do home made fishcakes and home made pizzas. Special dietary needs usually exclude either gluten, milk products or both. My nephew can't have either of these, so finding food for him can be a problem - baked potatoes with tuna or baked beans are fine for him though. The clientele that you expect to attract will be the driving force for your menus though - for both the adults and kids - this will dictate how healthy or adventurous or expensive (better quality ingredients) the food offered will be. Good luck and it's good to see someone who is really thinking about a kids menu - it is an important consideration and will dictate whether mums with kids will visit you or not.
