What Great Educational Toys Should I Buy My 5 Month Old Baby Girl? The toys we have seem to bore her so easily. She is my first so i don't know what to buy! Can someone give me a list of toys she can benefit from, enjoy, great learning pieces, while having fun? Thanks!
When can I get a baby toys? My little nephew is only a month old, but I'm wondering when is an appropriate age to get a baby some educational and fun baby toys? He's already trying to hold his own bottle and he is already quite ticklish too...is that normal?
What are some good educational toys for a 2 year old girl? My daughter is going to be two in May. I am wondering what would be some good educational toys for her. I have been looking but most of what I have been seeing is for infants and toys that she would get bored of. She likes things that make noise. Right now she is into drawing and organizing. She likes pushing things around. She is really into baby dolls right now. I got her one and some accessories to go with. I am just wondering what educational. I a curious what your child at this age likes or liked and also what are some toys to avoid? Thanks!
What Do You Think About Educational Toys And Videos? Seems like there's been this explosion of educational toys and videos out for children in the past few years. LeapFrog, Baby Einstein, and many many more. I've just been thinking though. Back when our parents and grandparents were young, their parents taught them everything. Every single thing they learned was something they learned from their parents. Does anyone else think it's a bit sad that it went from parents teaching kids everything, to parents popping in a Baby Einstein video and saying "Look how smart they are!" I mean, yes they're getting smarter from these toys and don't get me wrong because it's wonderful. But it seems a bit sad that the only credit parents have in that is going out and getting the toy from walmart or popping in the dvd. What do you think? Also, I hope nobody gets the impression that I am 100% against these toys or videos because I'm not. The only thing I'm against is parents who get all these things and act like they had something to do with how smart their children are when all they did was go out and buy the toy.
I have a brand new small rocking chair and baby musical toys.? I bought a rocking chair for my grandson, he hasn't used it and it just sits here. Do you know of any small children age 1-3 who would like to have it. I have also other children 's educational toys I would like to donate, if you don't then I will give them to the Salvation Army but I just heard about you so wanted to contact you first

Baby toys & book parties...? You know how us women throw mary kay parties and stuff like that, you can do it for baby toys and educational stuff but I'm not sure how to find information on it so if anyone knows of any websites, send them my way! Thanks!
Gift ideas for a 10 month old that hates baby toys!? My son just turned 9 months old, and will turn 10 months old right before Christmas. I have NO idea what to get him. He's walking, talking, and climbing already and has no interest in any of his baby toys. He likes to play with some of my 4 year old twin boys' toys, but I want to find things that are a little more age appropriate for him, but that won't bore him. Educational toys that are fun are definitely a plus, and cost is an issue (I don't have 5k to drop on Christmas gifts lol). Thanks for any ideas!!!!
poll -- tv, computer, and educational toys? I'm interested in changing notions of how best to further a child's development. 1. at what age do you consider it in a child's best interests to watch tv? (note that I don't mean in their best interests just because it preserves mom's sanity or allows her time to make dinner, though I certainly can relate to that). 2. what's your opinion of tv or videos marketed as being educational (like Baby Einstein or SuperWhy) 2. at what age do you consider it in a child's best interest to have time to play on the computer or use the internet? 4. how important to a child's development do you consider toys marketed as "educational"? What do you consider to be an "educational" toy? Are you more likely to buy a toy marketed as educational? 5. which do you consider more educational for a toddler -- traditional toys like blocks, dolls, pretend props, balls, crayons, etc. or toys that teach abcs, 123s, colors, etc.? 6. how much time a day do you spend reading to your child? my personal feelings (I'm still interested in yours even if they're different and I appreciate everyone' input): 1. never, though a little probably won't hurt, either 2. not as good as learning from a person 3. school-age 4. i think they're a marketing scam 5. traditional toys 6. at least a half hour per kid, often substantially more
How do you put into words in an invitation that you do not want toys/clothes as gifts for a baby christening? And instead of toys or clothes, the parents would prefer money to put up a savings account/educational fund in the baby's name. The baby has everything she needs up to about a year, from gifts from the baby shower
What is the toy brand for a popular baby around the Northern Europe region? I have the baby now. I am looking for the educational toy and the toy for the baby. Could you give the popular brand and the commodity around the Northern Europe region? When the evaluation of the design, safety, and the function of the region is high, I very often hear it.
Friends and Co-Workers seem critical that I am not into Educational Toys for my Kids? On the market these days, there are so many educational toys, to get babies learning to read, do calculus and all these other special educational skills that I personally think is too much, too early. For the first five years, I would rather my kids just have fun, and if they learn something on their own, great, but I do not try to push anything. I think after three, I would rather focus on how to sit, how to be quiet when it quiet times, how to politely ask for things with a 'Thank you.' Stuff like that. Then when Friends and Co-Workers ask what educational toys will I be getting this Christmas, and I say none, they either just quietly give me that stare, or ask what's the harm of getting a few of the basics out of the way before kindergarten? I did get the 'Most Dangerous Book for Boys' that talks about all the neat stuff boys should be doing, like climbing trees and building traps. Stuff that really is fun, and makes life fun, than get them a grade higher in life. At least until it's time to snare some arrogant co-worker, to be dangling in the hallway when they get high and mighty.
What are the best educational and/or fun toys for a 6-7 month old? We have the usual toys: swings, bumbo chair, vibrating chair, playmats, tummy time toys... What other toys are there that babies really like? I am thinking ahead for a few things to ask for as christmas presents for my little boy.
baby bonus entitlement question? ok, so my son was placed by child protective services (canada) in the care of his paternal grandmother for a period of 6 months while my spouse and i worked out our differences (we were fighting constantly about his infedelity, and his sister called the police). it has been 4 months and we have since splitten up. since day 1 of my childs placement, i have supplied above and beyond his daily needs... 2 cribs, 2 exersaucers, 2 playpens, 2 jumperoos, duplicates of all educational toys (baby einstein videos, baby leapfrog, baby cell phone, baby EVERYTHING, all in 2's) everybody thinks i have twins, but i buy 2 of each, 1 for at his grandmas, and 1 for at my house. i have also paid for all his diapers, wipes, food, tempra, etc. my question is about the baby bonus. my son is 7 mos old and has been in his paternal grandmothers care for 4 mos. i have not yet claimed the baby bonus, so who is entitled to it? my worker claims i should ive it to his paternal grandma, but i disagree with that, because i have been the one who has been paying the expenses for his needs.
Best toys/educational items?? In your opinion, what company makes the best baby/toddler toys and why?

What did you get your baby(boy) for their first birthday? We're going to be buying Noah's birthday presents with some of our tax money(yay) but I'm not sure what to get him. He loves things that play music or talk(he has both the laugh and learn chair and table). Any learning/educational toys would be great too. So, what presents were your baby's favorites at their first birthday? Oh, and any book recommendations? Lol, Mrs Z plus 3, a good friend got him the pony for Christmas. We've only tried it out a couple of times with me holding on to him but he LOVES it and goes crazy when he's on it! Lol, Mrs Z plus 3, a good friend got him the pony for Christmas. We've only tried it out a couple of times with me holding on to him but he LOVES it and goes crazy when he's on it!
What toys are age appropriate for a one year old boy? I'd like to get him some toys or activities we can play with outside in our yard. He already has kind of a lot of toys; v-tech, playskool and fisher price toys that are educational and fun.. then the push em walker/ride on top toy... and the baby Einstein series, too. While its nice and warm outside, I'd like to take advantage of it while we're able to play around in the grass before it snows. Any ideas on what to get for his birthday next week? Geez, its starting to sound like he's spoiled, but he really isn't. He has like five different size balls... and a pale and shovel.
What does your baby like to play with that is... unconventional? My son has lots of educational toys, and yet he ignores them in favor of unfolding dishrags, tapping an old keyboard and joyfully liberating kleenexes and baby wipes! Do other people's kids do this? Did I waste a ton of money on toys?
What educational activities do you recommend for 2+mos baby? It could be DVD's, books, specific toys, etc. thanks.
Does this look like a baby toy for a girl? My mom bought the Vtech Sort and spin blender for my nephew who's turning one. She took it back because it looked to girly. Is it? http://besttoysguide.com/educational-toys/vtech-sort-and-spin-blender
What is something a 6 month old baby should have? As in educational toys. Something to help her develop. She is pretty smart, I think;) She's strong! She's juuuust about crawling...
Stimulating baby aged 3 months (without toys)? I have spent the first three months of my granddaughter's life with her, in spite of living almost 2000 kms away. Grandpa visits us once or twice per month. Sadly, I have to return home soon - I am going to miss her tremendously. I want to know from all the mommys and nans out there - what sort of educational stimulation can I give my baby? I started exercising her back and neck after two weeks, and we were all amazed at how strong she is. After a month I started with her legs and now she kicks very strongly. I have done the same with her arms (clapping) and she is in very good shape. I would like to start some mental stimulation but have no idea where to start. Already, since age 2 weeks, I hanged a very colourful flower for her to look at. She loves it! She also has toys all around her to stare at, but I feel there must be more!!! Please help, your answers will be very highly appreciated. Bless everyone with a baby, it is so rewarding. They are made to be cherished
Ladies...what's on your christmas list this year? I have a 9 month old son and I'm 6 months pregnant sooo yeah most of my list includes getting lots of fun educational baby toys and some more things that they need. If my hubby as any money left over I'd like two pair of earrings, some perfume(Princess by Vera Wang), a big fluffy pink robe and some slippers to match, and last a bigger bag/purse...probably pink lol. Just wanna know some of your picks. I'm sitting at home bored and pregnant =] Thanks!
Babies and Toys? When do babies usually become interested in toys. My 2 month old only seems to like her dangly toys like from her bouncy seat, swing and crib. I was just wondering if she should be inerested in rattles and other things yet. Also, what are some of the better and more educational toys that they first play with?
If you were to buy your 10 month old baby a toy, which would it be and why? I'm looking to get Alyssa a new toy tomorrow. I'd prefer something under $30 and semi-educational. What would you suggest? Some kind of busy toy. Lots to do and will get her little mind going. She loves things that make noise and I'd prefer a toy that she doesn't have to chase around the room. She doesn't need encouragement to walk or crawl.
Need Good Ideas for X-mas gifts for my baby who will be 10 months old.? being my babys first x mas i want to shower my baby with a plethora of gifts that she will enjoy! what are great toys for infants. Also she shows an intrest in computers... Need educational toys also. Give me some good educational toy advice. thanks
stereotyping our children via toys? i saw an advertisment a few moments ago, and it was about a girl baby toy that does everything a real baby does, eats, poops, pees, sleeps, breathes, cries, you even change dippers and prepare the 'meals' for it. it was shown with a 3 year old holding it with a smile and the quote 'you're the best mommy'. Seems to me putting a little kid into mommy duty since the age of 2-3 is harsh. No wonder some women obsess about having kids and getting married. the next advertisment was about this action figure guy for boys that fights crime and the bad people with all these lazer guns and rockets to save the world. are these toys brainwashing or entertaining? I mean, i don't see many toys that are educational, i've seen fisher price toys but thats about it. Would you choose a baby-toy and a b-b gun instead? any opinions?
I like to know is there any fun/educatioal sites for baby development that is goog.? I know there sites out there. I'm new to net finding games/educational things to work on a baby. I don't want the baby to play toys all the times. I know some toys are good for developing motor/fine skills & for learning while having fun. Any parents or educational staff let me know. While I'm at the subject of educational what about for elementary students. I'm very concerned of my nephew he is 3 and not speaking. The doctor told me makes an appt to get his hearing check out. I saw on TV phonics would be good for him. I don't know which one to choose for. I want to work with him before his start school. His parents don't have time. I'm just want to work him.
I regret having my baby? Please someone help me I really don't think I can stand this much more. My son is 8 months old. I am 21 and a single mother to him and every single day I am in tears because i just can't cope with him. It's not that I am some sort of benefits getting council house chav, I work. If h were well behaved it would be different but he acts like a selfish spoilt little brat. He screeches night and day and demands constant attention. it's not enough that I am holding him but I have to be throwing him up and down and making noises for hours on end, literally or he will just sit there howling. I have tried playing with him, buying him loads of different toys, buying him educational "baby signing" dvds to occupy him while I do other things thta NEED doing for example cleaning, washing, cooking but nothing works. He won't sleep, he wakes up at like 11.30 at night and cries and screams until I have no choice but to hold him. My life has changed for the worse I am trapped, I'm scared to go out in case he has one of his tantrums. It's getting to the point that when he screams I just put him in his cot and close the door for fear that I will end up hurting up. i don't see a crying baby with feelings, I just see a giant mouth screaming and I can;t bear it! I feel a knot in my chest and I feel short of breath when I think about him and I'm sick of discussing "does he sleep well" with random strangers who are so bloody nosy. Why do they CARE? I want to give him up for adoption, or to my parents or something, anything just to get him away from me I don;t love him and I don't want him. No I'm not a "troll" and I was on the pill IT DIDNT WORK. Reading your answers makes me feel guilty but I'm not being like this deliberately, I have tried so hard to bond with him but it just hasn't happened. I wish I could feel happy around him like a "normal parent" but I don't know how! As I said I don;t think anyone would enjoy parenting a child who screams for 5-6 hours a day
What are you getting or what would be best to get...? ...a baby for christmas? My son will be 10 months when Christmas gets here. What are some good/educational toys for babies 10-12 months? I'm pretty sure I could shop around but what are your experiences or what are some toys, etc. that have helped your child...like the top 5. Thanks everyone in advance! Have a good day. ~mommy to a 9 month old and 6 months pregnant with #2~
Should babies have toys? im just wondering but should babies have any toys that arnt educational? i mean they are at a stage where they take in the most information and they are learning things like animals can talk and all kinds of weird stuff. they would be getting so many wrong impressions. if its educational they will grow up at a higher level of inteligence and they can still have fun. if i have kids no way i am giving them some brainwashing kids toys which they can't put down, unless they are learning. unless someone here can prove me otherwise
Ways to make a baby smarter? I am 23 weeks pregnant right now, and am just wondering if anyone knows ways to make a baby as smart as it can be. I know that little ones are like sponges for the first few years of their lives, and I would like to take that opportunity to expand their mind as much as possible. She doesn't need to be some prodigy child (although that would be cool!) but it would be nice if she knew much more than the average child. I am wondering what I can do now (prenatal) and later once I have her. I enjoy listening to classical music from time to time, and have increased how much I listen to it now, because I've heard that classical music inspires imagination and intelligence in anyone, especially fetuses and babies. I plan to have mostly on educational toys for the most part once she arrives, and tv is not something she will know well except for Baby Eienstien type videos. As she gets older, tv will be allowed more, but not unlimited like most kids have it. I'd rather encourage other activities. I just want to add that I will be completely loving and not push things on my child that they are not interested in. I just want to do things now and in the very early stages to encourage their mind and imagination to grow. I am a very open minded, curious person, and feel my baby should be given the chance to explore whatever her heart desires. I am not even planning on raising her on a religion! I want her to discover on her own terms what to believe in. I just want tips on how to take advantage of that sponge stage.
Best toy for 9-12mo baby? What toy does/has your baby enjoyed most in this age range? My son is 9.5mo & is really starting to get interested in more complex toys. The cardboard boxes and plain old balls still do it for him, but I'm looking for suggestions on more educational type toys.
What is a good present for a 1year old boy for Xmas? I was thinking of the baby einstein dvds. But I already have a set, and I can just lend it to them. Are there other nice educational dvds? Or educational toys for that age range? Thanks.

Well i mean my 15 months old don't like to watch TV nor does she like to play with her toys ( which are educational) so i worried for her vocabulary,i mean she entertain her self and have fun doing it and can say some words but i want her to be able to say more words. so if i can make her some flash cards but need ideas of what words to put on the cards. thanks
Are there any educational professionals that teach children with severe to profound disabilities? I have an assignment to complete. I had to pick 15 toys that will help develop pro-social behavior, targeting a specific age range. I chose the following toys. Lullaby Glowworm - lights up/plays music, talking vamones von - says phrases in english & spanish along with music phrase & sound effects, doodle pro, fun2learn - music songs, dance & movement, games, see&learn piano, intro to colors, shapes and intrument sounds, music mirror lights up baby's face, alphabet pal - gross motor, auditory, congnitive language, letter and sound and plays 26 songs. I am to discuss my written description and summary of my findings with an educational professional. If you are an educator that is able to give me feedback in this area, please help. Any information you may have would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know of This Educational Preschooler toy that hook up to the T.V? It comes in a baby version and a preschooler version. I seen it while i was babysitting my neice advertised on Nick Jr. I beleive it has games like dora and stuff. The controller has shape and colors on it and it interacts with the T.V. This looks so awesome and i want to get it for her for x-mas. Can someone please tell me what and where to get this because I skimmed through play skool's site, and fisher price and got nothing. I asked this question twice allready in different catagories and got no answers so i figured who better to askthan parents. please help so i can stop racking my brain.

Ive looked in places like Toys R Us, Baby Bunting. Target, Big W...all to no avail Does anyone know where I can find one ??? what are good ideas to help my baby learn and play? my son is 6 months old. what are some good ways and ideas to help stimulate him and help him learn the things for his age group. i buy him as many educational toys as i can keep up with, we go for walks, tummy time, rainforest jumper, bouncer, crib toys, rattles, a few CDs....i read simple books to him, does anyone know of any good baby book authors? i feel sometimes since he can only keep attention to things for a short time that i am not playing enough with him, or when he is sitting in his bouncer while i have to clean up dishes, or i have to 'get ready' for work..that i am not giving him enough attention, i am not doing a good job. so what can i do?
Help. My pretty baby is now horrid to other kids? I taught my young pretty daughter what i thought was confidence. She is 3yrs old and is addmittedly a very pretty child..shes done some modelling. The money goes into her bank a/c,its not for my use. The thing is i thought i was doing the right thing by giving her everything she wants, i buy her all designer clothes, i tell her every day shes the most beautiful child in the world. I suppose i like good stuff myself so shes learned from me that clothes from primark are bad and clothes from harvey nics are good. But that was a lesson in quality from me, not about being better than others. However shes now in playgroup and i'm getting complaints that she is not nice to other kids if they dont have nice clothes and wants to have her own clique of 'pretty' kids. Surely my little angel cannot be that concious of her blessings at this age? I've never told her she was better than other children, just beautiful. I do notice she has an attidude that she can do everythign better than every other child, but i didnt mind that, i thought it important to give my baby confidence that i didnt have from a young age. Shes extremely advanced with reading and writing, the playgroup leader says shes about 2yrs ahead. I'm happy about that as i've rule of no tv or computers, just educational toys from the time she was 3months old. I'm 25. Any tips?

make a baby toy? I am taking Early Childhood in school, and the project is to make a baby toy. I am fresh out of ideas and the project is due this Monday. It has to have something educational and up to 5 years in age. Any ideas?
Baby Einstein Scam !!!? I have been against babies watching t.v. forever.. even these stupid "educational shows" .. I am loving this new article on the front page of yahoo.. So discuss.. what do you parents think? http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/parenting/the-great-baby-einstein-scam-531147/ Of course it was too good to be true. The New York Times reported Thursday that Disney is offering a refund to buyers of its ubiquitous “Baby Einstein” videos, which did not, as promised, turn babies into wunderkinds. Apparently, all those puppets, bright colors, and songs were what we had feared all along—a mind-numbing way to occupy infants. This news has rocked the parenting world, which had embraced the videos as a miraculous child-rearing staple. Videos that make your kid smarter while you prepare dinner? Genius! Or not. According to the article, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under two years old stay away from watching screens. In the letter threatening Disney with a class-action lawsuit for "deceptive advertising," public health lawyers hired by Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood cited a study which found a link between early television exposure and later problems with attention span. For many parents, this was the most unsettling of "duh" moments, and a confirmation that nothing, when it comes to child-rearing, is as ever easy as we'd like to make it. So why were we so quick to seize on Baby Einstein videos as technological tutors? Call it the perfect storm of parenting. Who doesn’t want to believe that there is a magical, wondrous, no-parental-guidance-required product that will turn their kids into Mensa members? The combination of our lack of time, our paranoia over our kids performance, and our faith in technology primed this generation of parents to accept the clever advertising around "Baby Einstein" as truth, just as parents before us have seized on corporal punishment, or the teachings of Dr. Spock. Still, the idea that a caper this big could be pulled off (according to the Times, in “a 2003 study, a third of all American babies from 6 months to 2 years old had at least one 'Baby Einstein' video") is mind-boggling. Disney’s refund is about as close as we’re going to get to an actual admission that we were sold snake oil, and it casts a pall over the other "educational" toys out there. Haruhi - Maybe not... this is known.. But people are still idiots and most parents I know took it as a great education tool.. Whoa- Why is Noah's Mommy getting thumbs down?? Are you guys serious? Right was she thinking - books are so over rated.. t.v is the way to go for learning.. losers
Worlds Most annoying Christmas Presents for Kids? I need ideas for annoying Christmas presents for little girls. My cousin has 3 girls, the oldest being 4, and when I was little he'd always give us annoying presents for Christmas and birthdays, so my mom needs ideas to get him back. Is there some baby doll that doesn't stop laughing/crying? Where can we find the squeeky shoes? Educational toys are great too.
What was the best thing you received when you were pregnant? I know two people who are pregnant, both are young (22 and 16) and I want to give them something that will be beneficial to them and baby, but not materialistic. I don't want to buy toys, something educational maybe- any ideas?
Baby Toys - What do you recommend ? Im looking for baby toys for a toddler, i found this site http://www.babyboynameslist.net and they have some good educational toys, any ideas ?
Question for parents about toys? I don't have any kids but I was just wondering this. So many toys are out now for babies andd toddlers that act like video games (like Vsmile, leapster, etc) to teach kids. Do you think these toys are good for them at such a young age or are they better off with human interaction? Educational video games for infants seems like a bit much to me. I've always thought that infants and toddlers were better off with human interaction.
Way moms never relax? I'm a nanny, from south america living in USA since 2004. the only thing i see here in america is moms going crazy for theyr babies development, is baby class, baby sing class, books, educational toys, since they are new borns. There is no play time without the parent relax and just enjoy the play time, no, is always need to have some educational pourpouse in the game. i ask? how could i, and many many others, survive, 28 years ago, without special bottles, without estimulation, whatching tv, playing outside. how could i get a degree in physical education if i didn't had baby einstain or baby class when i was 3 months old? how could i learn to love my mom and be a good person even if she spanked me sometimes and said NO to me many many times. i want to be a mom, but i'll relax way more, because i will never accept my kid kicking me or telling me to shut up. Can you, american moms, explain that to me: how could we survive?
Why do we do fun & nice things for babies and little kids when they will not remember it? Why do we take out little kids (under 3) on trips to like Barney Land (or whatever) and spend money on NON EDUCATIONAL toys because they will most likely FORGET all about it. Unless you keep photos of the events it will be as if they never happened for them right? I know some people retain some early memories but that will be like one snapshot of one or two things. So my question is why do we do these things? Is it simply for our own pleasure as adults to watch the temporary happiness on the kids face?

Can you, american moms, explain that to me: how could we survive? This is not an attack to american moms, but if you research about american education you'll see that america gives the worst education for theyr kids. i would never interrupt my mom in a conversation i lerned to respect my parents, to eat what was in the table, not ask 8 diferent tipes of food in one meal. Sorry if i offended someone, but i'm oberving for over 3 years, and now i know way sometimes a teen goes in a school and shut everybody.
would you let your baby use this walker? I didn't buy it.? My mother-in-law asked what we she could get for our 3 month old for Christmas and I told her to get a book or an educational toy. So of course she doesn't listen and buys this Fisher Price Stride walker. http://www.etoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/4762035/ctid/17/INstock/Y/D/&?_e=4790d&_v=4790D3CFJzgKa4D086F98D2C I heard horror stories about walkers- kids falling down stairs and bashing their faces in if they trip over or on these things. I don't like the idea of this thing... I don't ever plan on using it indooors but maybe I can warm up to the idea of him using it outside when he is a lot older. What do you think about this? thanks for all of the responses. Maybe I am just a nervous first time mom. :)
4 yr old won't play with toys just watches t.v.? my 4 yr old never wants to play withi his toys. he never even goes in his room. i say go play shut the t.v. off and i will go in his room and ask him what he wants to play with so i can take it out for him and he looks as if he is so bored. he has many toys and really nice ones so it's not like he's bored because of there are no toys. all the toys are the ones he picked out and educational ones i picked. i have a new baby and it is hard to play and clean and do all that house wife stuff all in one day. i will glady do a puzzle or blockes but he hates that stuff all he wants to play is "bad guys" i HATE IT!!! i find my self sitting on the floor wanting to fall asleep so i have to get up to wake my self up. My question is all he wants to do it watch t.v. he watched noggin and disney channel not sponge bob or stupid stuff like that but honestly he can and will watch all day if i allow it. right now i think he is up to 4 hours a day spread out. he goes to school 3 days a week till 3 so it's not like i have him in know programs i am very active with him in the warmer months but it's cold out. i just feel horrible and we live in an apartment so it's not like i can open the door and have him play in the yard and i can't be out side for long anyway like i said i have a little one. i know he is taken care of i just feel like i am faling as a mom. i alway feel guilty! is that a part of motherhood also???? thank you
Which toy is your 14 month old's favorite? I have a 14 month old girl and need some ideas. What keeps your 14 month or (12-18 month old) busy? Educational toy ideas would be great, but only if you know from epxerience that it keeps the baby's attention. I'm only saying educational because she's that type of baby, she is into things like that. It captures her attention longer than just a push me popper toy.
What is a step-up stool? I have been browsing a website that has really nice educational toys and furniture for babies and toddlers, and also like for preschools and there is an item that we found, we are decorating, well I'm helping my sister-in-law to decorate her son's room, he is a big Lakers fan and the bedroom set looks really nice, everything that a real basketball player could dream, it has a rocking chair, a storage box that can be used as a bench too, two director chairs, lamp, and a table with two chairs and with the logos of the Lakers, and the only one item that I find curious because it says it's a step up stool and toy storage, the toy storage part I get it, but what's the Step up stool for, just like a step for them to reach high things, like a small ladder? can someone help? http://www.1888toys.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3684&KCSA1314
Too much pressure on babies? I had an interesting conversation with my partner the other day, and wanted some opinions on it. i am 29 weeks pregnant with my first and was looking for some newborn toys for baby to play with. All have some sort of "educational" value to them, whether it be crinkly, crunchy ears, or a certian texture etc. When I pointed this out to partner, his comment was "why do babies always need something "educational" and are constantly being pushed. whay can't they be allowed to just be babies and have fun." He says children are pressured from the word go by pushy parents and that there should be a balance between the two. i hadn't really thought about it before. Do u agree or disagree?
How much television ( if any ) do you let your toddler watch? I'm doing a paper on the subject, your input will help. Feel free to include age(s) of the your children,( although I'm trying to keep it to the 1-4 range)what and/or when you let them watch television, and finally how you feel it effects them and you. Although I'm focusing mainly on the effects of broadcast television, I'm interested in all children's programing, such as t.v. series on dvd ( think Bob the Builder, Dora, the like,) educational dvd's( baby einstein) and movies.Consider if it makes you buy certain products, makes your children brighter or more like zombies, all answers will be looked at. Fear not, I will not judge as I have a 3 year old son OBSESSED with Thomas the Train, and Toy Story 2. I watch with him and as of yet, he is not a brain dead couch potato. The Parents Responbility to do things like watch with them, explain commercials, explain fantasy from reality is the main point of this paper. ANYWHO....thanks for your input! To clairify: The whole differination from fantasy and reality has more to do with commericals and shows with live actors..
