What do you call those arts and crafts toys? The one where they have like little ridges around them and you can use a pencil or pen and make these like cool designs. They come in different shapes, sizes and are made out of plastic. I want to buy some for my daughter but can't seem to remember what they are called. Please help thanks!! I left out some stuff. You put your pencil through the small holes and you go round and round and it comes out to a real neat swirly designs. I hope this helps.

Social Action Project! Where can I donate craft-like toys (stuffed animals mostly) for needy or sick children? I am coordinating an activity to give back to the community for my youth group. Is craft store felt safe to make cat toys with? I have been growing catnip for some time now, and I want to make some cat toys with it. I've stitched some shapes out of plain ol' craft store felt - but will it hurt my cats if they chew on or ingest the felt? I've done a search and seen a lot of cat toys made from "felted wool" but I'm pretty sure that's not the same thing.

What non-commercial cat toys do your cats like? Mine like the clear plastic containers with the snap on lids that toys come in from the 'gumball' machines. I put a couple of pennies in them then seal the lid. They love to bat them around. They also LOVE the little fluffy crafts balls that you can get at Wal-Mart in the craft dept. (Mine like the shiny ones). They usually come a bunch in a bag (which is good because they lose them all the time!) And a favorite of one of my cats is a crushed up cigarette pack or box (with the celephane left on). That is her "throw and fetch" toy.

What's a good Easter gift for kids that isn't candy or toys? I have a 5 year old niece & a 3 year old nephew and I have no idea what to get them for Easter. I'm thinking something smaller, like $10-20 each. They have MORE than enough toys and dolls, and they don't watch a lot of TV. How come all the toys for girls don't teach them anything? And boys do? I had tried to look in the Argos catalogue to find a gift for my niece and all of them were dolls, make up, sewing etc, laundry and kitchen etc. All silly things that won't actually stimulate her brain. The boys toys were all building and maths and science and knex, magnetix etc. They would learn more from them. I ended up getting the magnetix in the end. I had to look in the boys section to get her anything that would help her intellectually. I am not saying that girls shouldn't have dolls etc all brainwashing to get them to only think about, children, looking pretty and cleaning. Nothing wrong with having some of these toys but ALL? bar soem craft products. Did anyone else have trouble finding gifts for Christmas for little girls? (mine was birthday and Eid though). WSIDR III - That is a great idea! It didn't taste that nice though, won't be crediting Mr Newman with anything good there. If you look in the said catalogue you will see that all the girls toys have a pink background and the boys blue. So it has been divided by the people of Argos and the toymakers but there is also a unisex section. But you got my drift. I couldn't get her the LeaPad because she is ten. I ended up with Magnetix. I could also get her a DS game to play on her brother's consols but then he wouldn't let her play. Think I will get Big Brain Academy or Brain Training!

They do like grass but its not like they really chew on it when they get it. Babysitting 10 year old, fun crafts, science experiments, games, etc.? I am 15 and have a 10 year old niece and 21 month old nephew. I babysit them every weekend, from 4 til late on Friday and 9am-9pm on Saturday. Obviously my nephew needs more attention because he is so young. I take him for walks, read books, play with his toys, play in the backyard, etc, etc. My niece often goes to friends houses while I am there. She is allowed about an hour of TV a day. any tips on baking syrofoam into crafts? i am making a art project out of a shelf (i'm going to be puting it in my kids bathroom for them to put their tub toys on.) and i am decorating it to match the ocean theam in there.
